Now we know why Trip Advisor haven't listed them!

    Ahhh. All becoming clear!
Well if anyone is at RB now .... perhaps they could be kind enough to call in to O Farol and clarify this for us.
I have Googled O Farol and not located a website.
But...I had a conversation with them in September!
They said their Christmas and New Year menus were on their website.
They gave me their business catd! Thanks
(PS I hope I've uploaded the business card they gave me)

Website doesn't seem to work. We visit O Farol at least twice during our visits,
but, after being owners for 15 years, we still can't put names to faces of the Owner, Managers & staff !
    can anyone help ?

  4. Not good at spelling but the head waiter ( large bloke black hair) is known as "John". Prato is the thin smiley one and Saish is the short friendly one with glasses. Hope that helps a bit :)

Thanks James I get the impression that the older thin guy with glasses is the boss ?

  6. I will take advice from others but as John is the only one who doesn't work the pool bar I give him superior rank!

I can't find a website, but O Farol does have a Facebook page, which you'll find here.

Prata and Jesus own the lease the others are employees. Jesus is the older man wth greying hair who spends a lot of his time at the corner cafe which he and Prata also lease.

I noticed on a recent Tripadvisor review they said "the on site Restaurant was closed" - I assume this is O Farol - I thought it never closed ?

They close each year in January for about 2 weeks.

I see from the Annual Assembly minutes that O Farol has been "acquired" by RB - Will this result in any changes - staff, menu, prices etc ?

We were in RB last week (lovely weather, thanks) and I did suggest trying O Farol again - having not eaten there for years. But we didn't in the end, and I'd be interested to know what owners think about it nowadays. Our two top eating places last week were: 1. La Bella Vita and 2. Pashmina. Hope to be back in October.....

  13. If you read all of this thread I think you will realise I am a fan :) Hope improvements don't lead to too many menu changes as the chicken piri piri is one of the best around for me, their prawns with tropical fruits is a delicious start on a warm evening and for the special occasion the chateaubriand is top class!

Agree entirely James. We are out in about 3 weeks time and I know what I shall be eating! Just hoping it hasn’t changed.

Hmmm. I decided to check again on Trip Advisor. The listing of O Farol comes under Lagoa (which probably doesn't help) but there is only one review. Admittedly it was positive, and admittedly it was from an experienced reviewer, but if O Farol is really good they ought to persuade the admirers to give it a plug. Trip Advisor is not infallible, of course, but it has a huge following. Or maybe the management want to keep it a secret so only the residents of RB can enjoy its delights? On our recent visit to RB our two top eateries were Le Cro (absolutely not to be missed, despite being on Restaurant Hill!) and La Bella Vita, just up the road in Clube Atlantico. That one, by the way, is also in a resort but a top notch establishment.
