    We paid our first visit to Recanto dos Mouros in late November, but it certainly won't be the last time we go there.

    Situated in Silves, to the north of the castle, it's not the sort of place you'd discover by chance - which might explain why there no tourists, only Portuguese lunching there.

    Everything about the meal was above average - even the olives were special. We're big fans of fish soup, so the meal got off to a good start - we then enjoyed two of the house specialities, Javali à Casa (black pig) and Ensopado de Borrego (a variation on Osso Buco). After those we couldn't possibly have eaten anything else!
